Spacer devices are made out of plastic material . Material that accumulates are static charge. This charge will attract the drug particles so differing amounts of drug will be delivered on each dose. The charge effect will reduce with use. Therefor to wash the spacer more than once a week is not recommended.
To Wash a Space Device:-
- Separate the two halves of the spacer
- Use a soap detergent to wash the spacer
- Rinse and leave to dry
- Do not wipe the spacer dry, as this will cause a static charges that will impede the flow of the drug.
